No aim and no plan to be an actor and he himself is amused how that ten seconds changed his life. If he had no patience for some 10 seconds when he was directly refused for a role in a program in Nepal television, he would not have become ‘MUNDRE’ now. He was born in a village of Sindhupalckowk. His place is about 75 km away from Kathmandu valley. He was too short in his childhood. He was still like a little child when he appeared SLC in 2047BS. He then went to India to find a job(a reason) but he actually went there it discover himself in a new palce. He got a job in a nursing home as receptionist. He became so dear it a Indian family. But later due to his mother he came back it village. His elder brother took him to Kathmandu to work. He applied in many places but he was not appointed. Almost everyone didn’t believe that he had passed SLC. Luckily he got a good job in a wholesalers’ shop. He was admitted to a collage but rarely attended his classes. New hopes came it his life after he met Mrs. Saraswoti. She was news teller in Nepal Television. He tried it become close it her so he always waited an opportunity to help her. Once he requested her to help him act in comedy programs in Nepal Television. She told some of her friends to let Jitu act in some of their episodes. Mr. Santosh Panta decided to call him fot trial. He did not believe that Jitu would do anything because of his height. He went out of the office and waited there for some time. This was his life changing wait, some magical seconds. As Santosh and his team were moving for shooting they thought to take Jitu along but there was no space in the van. Jitu readily accepted it sit in the bonnet. In the shooting spot he had to only wait. It was about it rain and they had it finish it fast. There was a dialogue to be spoken by a man but he failed to deliver it. The director asked Jitu to deliver the dialogue and he did it in one take. After that he started acting in some programs like “Twaka Tukka” and drama “Sostani” in Radio Nepal. He became close to some great personalities like Dinesh D.C. He even worked as a vegetable vendor and he carried 40 kilos of grocery in his bicycle. He was given a role of servant in a program. He was introduced many other actors there. This programme did well but later a misunderstanding arose between the directors and producers. The team broke up. Then Dinesh D.C took Jitu as his assistance director. This very opportunity became first step of ladder to success. He did his work so well that Dinesh would do nothing without him. With coordination with Dipak Raj Giri and Daman Rupakheti, he made a “kaukuti” which was a great hit. . Still then he was not independent actor. So he recorded a parody video of himself where he acted in double role- a director and a producer. This tape was give to GM. He watched that video and laughed so much like he never did before. Then he was immediately offered to direct ‘GITALJALI’. In that program he showed 25 minutes of comedy and 15 minutes music videos. It became a great hit and it ranked top 5 in Nepal T.V . “Meri Bassai” actors –Sitaram and Kedar came to know each other through gitanjali. Jitu himself suggested them to work in a team. After this he coordinated with Shivaram and introduced “Jire Khursani”. He is still acting in this serial. He became famous and successful with this serial. Everyone recognizes him with name “Mundre” which he got from Jire Khursani. A lot of hardship and devotion led him to who he is now. -
